Improbable is the creator of SpatialOS, a computation platform that allows you to exceed the power of a single game engine or server. SpatialOS can create a swarm of hundreds of conventional game engines that overlap together to create a huge, seamless world. Develop unconstrained by the computational and concurrent player limits of a single engine.

Headquartered in London, Improbable is a technology company dedicated to building technology to enable powerful virtual worlds and simulations designed to help solve previously intractable problems. In gaming and entertainment, this enables the creation of richer, more immersive and persistent virtual worlds.

The Company’s proprietary platform SpatialOS is now available as an alpha release for games development teams of all sizes. Founded in 2012, Improbable received $20m in Series A funding from Andreessen Horowitz in March 2015.

SpatialOS: the cloud platform for real-time multiplayer games, built with any game engine

For Any Multiplayer Game

SpatialOS is for any game where players interact in real time, including session-based games (i.e. games where matches begin and end during one play session) and persistent worlds. Instances of these games work for any number of players in a single instance; from 2 to 10000’s

Any Game Engine

Any game engine can be integrated with SpatialOS using our SDKs and GDKs. We provide our own integrations for Unity and Unreal engine and community integrations with Cryengine.

Cross Platform

SpatialOS games can be developed for PC, Xbox One, PS4, iOS and Android – and are cross-platform by default.
